On September 19, 2025, Stanford University in the United States and the international academic publishing institution Elsevier jointly released the 2025 Global Top 2% Scientists List. The list comprehensively evaluates nearly seven million scientists worldwide based on two key dimensions—“Lifetime Scientific Impact” and “Annual Scientific Impact.” Covering 22 major scientific fields and 174 sub-disciplines, the ranking aims to identify the top 2% of the world’s most influential researchers.
