Summary
Leimin Wang received the Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2016, and he is currently a Professor with the School of Automation, China University of Geosciences, Wuhan, China. Leimin Wang has published over 100 papers in the international top academic journals related to neural networks, artificial intelligence and automatic control, including the IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TFS, IEEE TCYB, NNs and other fields. The published high-level papers include over 30 IEEE Transactions papers with impact factor greater than 10, and 5 ESI highly cited papers, which have been cited more than 3400 times in Google Scholar. He has also authorized 6 national invention patents. Due to outstanding academic contributions, Leimin Wang was nominated for the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA) Outstanding Doctorate Dissertation in 2017, The Third Prize of Natural Science Award in Hubei Province in 2024, the Second Prize of Natural Science Award of the Chinese Association of Automation in 2024, the Excellent Scientific and Technological Paper Award of Hubei Association for Science and Technology, and Stanford’s World Top 2% Scientists in 2020-2024. Leimin Wang is the PI of several projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Abstract
It is with great pleasure that we present to you our inaugural issue of Journal of Nonlinear Dynamics and Applications (JNDA). The topics of nonlinear dynamics mainly include stability, bifurcation, chaos and control of nonlinear systems. Before the 1950s, the researches on nonlinear dynamics were in the preliminary stage. In 1963, the formal proposal of chaos theory marked a major breakthrough in nonlinear dynamics. After the 1980s, nonlinear dynamics has been widely applied in physics, chemistry, biology, engineering and other fields.
