Abstract
Enhancing the energy efficiency of urban housing is crucial for improving energy access in Ethiopia, where a persistent gap exists between energy demand and supply. The nationwide Integrated Housing Development Program (IHDP), implemented across diverse climatic zones with limited attention to local context and building energy performance, has inadvertently produced thermally uncomfortable and energy-inefficient urban dwellings.
