Aims & Scope

Journal of Materials Durability and Engineering (JMDE) is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in the field of materials science and engineering, with a particular emphasis on the durability, reliability, and long-term performance of materials under diverse service environments.

The journal aims to provide a comprehensive platform for disseminating original research, review articles, and engineering insights that advance the understanding and application of materials across a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, energy, marine, infrastructure, and manufacturing.

Core areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

Fatigue and fracture mechanics of metallic, polymeric, composite, and advanced materials;

Corrosion mechanisms, protective coatings, and anti-degradation technologies;

Manufacturing processes and surface engineering, including machining, additive manufacturing, and thermal treatments;

Microstructural evolution and phase transformations under mechanical, thermal, or chemical loads;

Damage modeling, durability prediction, and service life assessment of engineering components;

Multi-scale and multi-physics simulations in materials performance;

Materials characterization through advanced microscopy, spectroscopy, and in-situ testing;

Design of materials and structures for enhanced reliability and environmental resistance;

JMDE welcomes interdisciplinary contributions that bridge materials science with mechanical engineering, structural integrity, and design innovation. Studies focused on novel materials, emerging testing methods, and real-world application scenarios are particularly encouraged.
