Abstract
Macao, as a critical tourist destination at the junction of Chinese and Western civilisations, showcases the opportunity to feature its regional culture via culture-based tourism products, and tourism marketing presents further opportunities for cross-cultural connection. That said, there is significant thematic homogenisation, superficial and uninspired narratives, and a lack of user experience variation and engagement with the cultural products. This study employs the discipline of Narratology and analyses how narrative frameworks can be redesigned in cultural product development. This study proposes an eight constituent dimension framework: Narrative Theme, Plot Narrative, Character/IP Na... More >

Green Finance and Low-Carbon Economic Development: Moderating Roles of Green Technology Innovation and Government Intervention in China
Journal of Social Systems and Policy Analysis | Volume 3, Issue 2: 55-68, 2026 | DOI: 10.62762/JSSPA.2026.563767
Abstract
Using balanced panel data for 30 Chinese provinces from 2005 to 2022, this study investigates the impact of green finance (GF) on low-carbon economic development (LCE), with particular attention to the moderating roles of green technology innovation (GTI) and government intervention intensity (GII). A two-way fixed effects model is employed to control for regional heterogeneity and time effects. The results show that GF significantly promotes LCE. Moreover, GTI strengthens the positive effect of GF on LCE, whereas GII weakens this relationship, indicating that excessive government intervention may reduce the effectiveness of GF in supporting low-carbon development. These findings remain robu... More >

Journal of Social Systems and Policy Analysis | Volume 3, Issue 1: 37-44, 2026 | DOI: 10.62762/JSSPA.2025.899142
Abstract
The rapid advancement of internet and information technology has given rise to new forms of cybercrimes and illegal activities. To precisely combat such increasingly severe new types of crimes, China incorporated the "crime of aiding information network criminal activities" into the Amendment (IX) to the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China. However, in judicial practice, issues persist, including an overly low threshold for determining "knowingly," insufficient justification for "the principal offender's commission of a crime," ambiguous definition of "aiding acts," and biased assessment of "serious circumstances." These problems have exacerbated the vagueness of legal provisions,... More >

Journal of Social Systems and Policy Analysis | Volume 3, Issue 1: 26-36, 2026 | DOI: 10.62762/JSSPA.2026.546261
Abstract
Pakistan ranks among the world's most climate-vulnerable nations, experiencing recurrent floods, extreme heatwaves, droughts, and water insecurity despite contributing less than one percent to global greenhouse gas emissions. Although numerous climate policies and strategic frameworks have been formulated, their implementation remains substantially limited, exemplifying policy paralysis wherein political acknowledgement fails to translate into effective action. This study examines climate change through a public policy and governance lens, contending that the crisis represents primarily an institutional failure rather than insufficient awareness. Key drivers of policy paralysis include weak... More >

Journal of Social Systems and Policy Analysis | Volume 3, Issue 1: 1-14, 2026 | DOI: 10.62762/JSSPA.2025.514568
Abstract
To investigate the decoupling effect of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on carbon emissions, this study employs nonlinear panel models and threshold regression models to analyze the impact of FDI on economic growth and carbon emissions in RCEP member countries from 2000 to 2023. First, the Tapio decoupling model reveals that since 2012, the relationship between economic growth and carbon emissions has predominantly exhibited a weak decoupling state. Second, the results from the nonlinear panel models and threshold models indicate that FDI has a significant "U-shaped" nonlinear relationship with both economic growth and carbon emissions. Specifically, in terms of economic effects, FDI may ini... More >
